 | | | | | Mr Thomases Chop House Manchester - reader comments | | "Mr Thomas's Chop House offers great food and a good evening out. My wife, two son's and I all enjoyed our food. The decor and theme of the restaurant was great and they will be getting another visit. They do need to sort out the toilets with an upgrade at some point soon though." - duncan, stockport - NEW MEMBER (4/10/09 visited on a saturday evening) |
| | "The menu at Mr Thomas's Chop House is full of good hearty food, a little pricey but worth it. I recommend the Bread & Butter Pudding. The service was a little disappointing, but to be fair, the waitress was doing what looked to be 3 people's jobs. There was no host and only one waitress for the whole restaurant. Would visit again but maybe on a night where time is not important." - roz, manchester - member since Jan 2008 - (16/4/09 visited on a thursday evening) |

| "My husband and I came for a meal to Tom's Chop House for his birthday, never eaten here before, but its such a quaint British pub, full of character. Being midweek, we were surprised at how busy it was, but there were a few tables spare. We only ordered main meals and thankful, afterwards, as there was no way we would have manged a starter or dessert, but at the same time disappointed as I would have loved to have had all 3 courses. The main meals were so full of flavour, delicious and very filling. I highly recommend the Corned Beef Hash, not a meal you would expect to order out, and I was delighted as it was so so tasty! My husband also throughly enjoyed his Steak & Kidney Pudding. Two lovely winter dishes. The atmosphere was relaxed, not overly cozy however and the staff could have been a bit friendlier. We had a nice bottle of red which we chose from the extensive wine list. I wish I had room for cheese and biscuits. Next time we go, I think we will order just starters and desserts just to see if they live up to the main meals (I'm sure they will!). Overall, this place is superb for food and I would tell everyone to try it." - michelle, rochdale 14/11/08 (visited on a tuesday evening) |
| "Great British food in lovely old-fashioned surroundings. The food is mid priced and they have a great selection of wines. I prefer Sam's Chop House over the road as I think there is a much better atmosphere. The restaurant area in Tom's isn't separated from the bar area and the lighting is bordering on MacDonald's brightness." - clare, ashton-under-lyne 9/1/08 (visited on a saturday evening) |
