The
Slug and Lettuce Albert Square Manchester - reader comments
"I
booked a meal here for my birthday, the only reason I booked it was
because I wanted a sunday lunch. The Slug & Lettuce advertises
good Sunday lunches all day, every Sunday. Therefore I was very disappointed
to find out that they stopped serving the Sunday lunch an hour before
i arrived! Not a good start. We were the only guests in the restaurant
so I expected the service to be impeccable... it wasn't.
The waitress sat in the booth next to us laughing and chatting loudly
to another employee whilst cleaning menus. A different lady gave the
main and dessert to us, she was really friendly and polite. I hope
she got the tip we left. I doubt we will be returning."

"As
it is based in the centre of Manchester near work places you would
except the service to be quick! We waited over 30 mins for our meal.
No problem if it wasn't for the fact that we were on an hour's lunch
and having to pay £50 for our meals that we had to rush and
not allowing us to have coffee as we had to get back to work. When
trying to speak with manager he did not apologise and advised that
they tried to get meals out 15 mins after ordering. When I advised
that it had been longer he advised that they are allowed 27 mins to
get food out! I did advise that as they are in Manchester city centre
then they should provide a quicker service. The restaurant
was not even busy when we arrived therefore cannot see why it took
so long! With the service and the attitude of the manager we will
not be visiting Slug and Lettuce again. This is a shame as we did
bring alot of clients out for the lunch, but feel we get better food
and service at Pizza Express around the corner and better value for
money."
