 | | | | | Felicini Italian Restaurant Manchester - reader comments | | "I've been to Felicini a couple of times but this time I wasn't too happy with the service. My risotto was delicious but very salty. My friend and I both ordered starters but her's didn't turn up. I also had to remind the waiter that I had ordered a glass of wine." - Joan Curran, Ashton-under-Lyne - NEW MEMBER (9/7/09 - visited on a Wednesday evening) |
| | "The Crab & Coriander pasta was awful, just green mush on a plate and totally inedible. There were twelve of us and six had ordered this meal. They did replace with alternatives but one of the guests asked for the Chicken & Mushroom pasta instead. It came without the chicken and when she pointed this out, she was advised by the manageress to eat what she had and they would bring the chicken later... a bit like a chicken sandwich without the chicken I suppose. I have eaten at Felicini on many occassions and it has been fine. I was not surprised that it was half empty on a Friday night, the manageress would not listen to our concerns, she even accused us of being in the wrong. Terrible." - B Williams, Manchester - 23/3/09 (visited on a Friday evening) |
| "My husband and I visited Felicini at 5pm on Saturday, it was a pre-theatre meal. The Palace Theatre is just opposite the restaurant, so a perfect place to eat beforehand. At first we were a little wary of going in, as on the entrance door there was an advertisement for chefs of all brigades, so as you can imagine we were a little worried about the food quality. However, I can positively say, the food was fantastic, but just a little pricey! We shared one of the best starters we have ever had in a Manchester restaurant, the Piatto Grande di Antipasto for £12.00, it was gorgeous. The one problem we did have was that there was no house wine on the menu, so the bottle we ordered was a Merlot for £15, which is usually more than we would pay, however it really complemented the meal. For a main meal, I had the Carbonara which was beautifully presented with a poached egg and fried parma ham on top, although it was a bit too rich and I couldn t finish the dish. My husband has the spicy sausage pasta that was also delicious. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere. There were a few children in there, which was to be expected at that time of day, but I have to say they were well behaved. There was also a BOGOF offer on cocktails (available everyday from 5pm to 7pm), but to our disappointment there was nothing on the table advertising this and we only overheard the waiter on the way out telling this to another table, we would have stayed later otherwise. Overall, we can't wait to go back again." - Michelle, Rochdale - 27/10/08 (visited on a Saturday afternoon) |
| "All four meals were very good and the side dishes were good portions. Nice restaurant and ideal if you are going to the theatre." - Catherine, Manchester - 13/9/08 (visited on a Friday evening) |
| | "I visited this restaurant with my mum and two sons before going to the Palace Theatre. The restaurant was very nice, lovely decor. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful making sure everything was ok for us. Food was enjoyable, a little pricey, also pricey drinks but I suppose city centre prices. Would definately visit again if we return to the Palace" - Joanne, Stockport - 12/7/08 (visited on a Saturday afternoon) |
