Frankie and Bennys Italian Restaurant - reader comments

"The food was good, the waiter who took our order and served our meal was also good. The only complaint I have, and it spoilt our visit and we probably wont't be returning there, was because of the waiter who was at the front of house. We had a twenty minute wait because it was busy, the problem arose when he showed us to our tabe and my daughter asked for another table to which he replied there are none (there were two tables behind him if he could have been bothered looking but he just had a coudn't care less attitude). He was cleaning the table next to us at the time and we did eventually sit there but we weren't really happy about his attitide!"  - judith shovelton, wigan - 17/2/07 (visited on sat afternoon)

"The service and quality of food is absolutely fabulous - the food tasted exceptional. I realise this restaurant is part of a chain, but when you walk in, sit down and tuck in you don't actually think there is more of these restaurants. I visit Manchester on a weekly basis to stay with friends and each time we dine at Frankie N Bennies. Our favourites are Raspberry Daiquiris served by a young gentleman who always makes us laugh (we have yet to find out his name!!), then between us we usually order Paella, Manhattan Burger, Spicy Onion Rings, with extra BBQ sauce (which is served hot and absolutely delicious) or pizza, BBQ Chicken Lasagne or BBQ Chicken, Cheese and Bacon Melt with fries - these are our main favourite dishes.
Since discovering this restaurant we have eaten nowhere else, it is definitely one of the best in Manchester and we eat out a lot because we can never be bothered to cook!! As for the staff; we are usually greeted by friendly waiters/waitresses who immediately inform you of free tables. As it is usually very busy on a Saturday afternoon we are told there will be a wait usually a min 30-40 mins which we don't mind so we sit at the bar for a cocktail we have never yet waited that long for a table, the longest being 10 mins. We then get shown to a table and given our menu's, it doesnt take long for the waiter to realise we are ready to order and is over immediately and is very confident and polite. We have never yet waited longer than 15 mins for our dinner which is fine as you can have a little chat and drink while you're waiting. When the food arrives everybody's meals come one after another. We have never experienced any delays or mistakes on the order, once the meal is finished our tables are cleared not long after and are given a few minutes until they return to ask if we would like dessert, we are usually too full for this but with Christmas coming up I m sure we'll allow for a few more calories! So between myself and my friends we would like to state that we are very impressed with this restaurant and will be returning at every possibility in the future!"
