| | | | Fu's Chinese Restaurant Manchester - reader comments | "My husband and I don't often go out for Chinese, but last Friday we decided to pop down to China Town. There's a huge choice of restaurants so we wandered around and came across Fu's. The menu looked good and as the majority of the customers were Chinese, so we thought this must be the place to eat. Fu's had a very relaxed atmosphere about it, more cafe than restaurant and the food was delicious. Our first course was a great Dim Sum Starter which we ate along with some Prawn Crackers. We then shared a Hot & Spicy Beef and a Shredded Beef with rice, which again was delicious. Perhaps a little too much food for us but we shouldn't complain about the portion size. The staff were very polite and the toilets were very modern and clean. The food was reasonably priced and I have to say we would certainly go back again." - michelle knowles, rochdale 2/3/09 (visited on a friday evening) |
| "We've visited most of the restaurants in Chinatown and I can honestly say I've payed a lot more money for the same quality of food as is served at Fu's, which is very good and plentful. It's a friendly restaurant and the Manager remembers me everytime we book and makes sure we get our favourite table, which for me is a nice touch. | "Whilst the staff at Fu's were friendly and helpful, the food extremely cheap and the choice of dishes exhaustive, the quality was rather poor. My Dim Sum starter was hard like it had been overcooked (or even recooked) and the Lemon Chicken, whilst generous with batter in lemon and honey sauce, seemed to lack much chicken. The decor is more canteen than restaurant - it is called 'Fu's Chinese Cafe' after all - and the clientelle are largely Chinese which is normally a good sign. With so much choice around China Town though, I doubt I'll be returning in a hurry." - matthew, manchester 30/11/07 (visited on a thurs lunch) |
