 | | | | | Koh Samui Thai Restaurant Manchester - reader comments | | "Koh Samui offers an excellent quality of food with larger than average portions. Two small points to raise though, the food is served on cold plates and so chills fairly quickly, also the bottled beers are expensive." - Northern Geezer, Manchester - NEW MEMBER (8/6/09 visited on a Sat evening) |
| | "We were in Manchester for my partner's business purposes and wanted to check out the China Town of Manchester. We opted for Koh Samui but my partner and I were shocked at the poor quality of the food, that was an abomination. Neither of us ate much and left most of the food on our plates. The Egg Fried Rice looked grey, was dry and tasteless. The Tofu Red Curry was apalling, nothing like any others that I have tried throughout the Midlands, and it had a very strong pungent smell. The duck was very dry, lacked flavour and freshness. The ginger ale was completely flat and we could not have ran out of the place any faster. At £26 for 2 main meals we definitely overpaid. They had two lidless dustbins by the kitchen door, the staff were dressed in jeans and tracksuit bottoms, the only impressive point was that each table had a fresh rose sat in a small vase; pity the food standards failed to match. We also heard a youg lady commenting about the poor food on her way out. Very poor standards overall." - ganotaki, birmingham - NEW MEMBER (31/5/09 - visited on a friday evening) |
