| Built
at a cost of £4.5 million, the site near the City Of Manchester
Stadium and the iconic 'B of the Bang' sculpture, includes a 200 cover
Thai influenced restaurant, complemented with a concept bar with a
capacity of 300, a 200 capacity function room and large private dining
rooms. |
| Owned
by Iqbal Ahmed OBE, Chairman of Seamark and recipent of the Queen's
Award for Export, and his son Manzur Ahmed, Vermilion is the most
spectacular restaurant and bar to open in Manchester in many years
and is already attracting some big names and events to the venue including,
Manchester United, Manchester City, UEFA and the Ricky Hatton after
fight party. |
| The
interior design house of Miguel Cancio Martins, famous for the creation
of Buddha Bar and Man Ray in Paris as well as Opium in London and
the Alain Ducasse Crystal restaurant within Pacha in Marrakech, has
been employed to design and furnish the space with a mixture of ultra
modern architectural features and beautiful Asian antiquities. Miguel
has bought exclusive items from 26 different countries and assembled
to a ‘secret’ unique place in East Manchester. |
| The
three-storey building has a modern façade, with enormous picture
windows on two sides. The restaurant has a beautiful black lacquered
floor, a vast varnished timber ceiling, maroon walls, coral sculptures
breaking up the space, custom-designed tables and chairs as well as
pearl curtains and Asian artwork decorating the walls, a dramatic
visual feast. |
|
 |
Unique
to Vermilion, is a special private petit salon with a beautiful designer
rotating round table that can hold 18 guests. The bar on the second
floor is reached by a large circular staircase decorated in gold mosaic
tiles at the end of the room, directly in front of the spectacular
open kitchens. |
| Vermilion
serves Asian Fusion food which includes Dover Sole, Foie Gras, Chicken
Green Curry, Japanese Maki Roll and Ocean Tiger Prawn. Delicate Asian
flavours mixed with fine World food, Vermilion will take your taste
buds to distant lands. |
| Overseen
by one of Thailand’s most well respected chefs. Chumpol Jangprai
began his career at the age of 16 in the kitchens of his family’s
famous restaurant on Bangkok’s Wireless Road, ‘Sa Nguan
See’. For the last decade, chef Chef Jangprai has worked for
the renowned Blue Elephant Thai restaurant group, living all over
Europe as well as Thailand, cooking for world leaders and the cream
of Thai society. In 2003 he was named ‘Best Chef in Bangkok’
by international gourmet bible, Saveur Magazine. |
|
| Upstairs,
the large space of Cinnabar is decorated in burnt orange and red hues
with a multitude of elegant paper lampshades, stunningly colourful
linear carpet and a sculpture of Buddha heads at its centre that descends
through the floor to feature in the main Vermilion restaurant as well.
Most interesting of all however is the six ‘cocoon beds’
set around the space, these semi-private structures enable customers
to recline in the utmost comfort and seclusion in the middle of what
is one of Manchester’s most stylish drinking destinations |
 |
| The
demanding and discerning residents of Manchester and its affluent
neighbouring towns will surely find much to enjoy at Vermilion &
Cinnabar. With three bars, and two private rooms, one seating 24 and
the other 16, a function room for 200, a temperature-controlled wine
tasting area, a VIP room in the bar, 6 cocoons as well as complimentary
valet parking. Vermilion is the secret haven for sophisticated and
stylish diners and is the destination restaurant in every sense of
the word. |

| "We've
vistied Vermilion three times now; once for a quick lunch, once to
entertain business clients and another for a romantic evening. On
each occassion it has fitted the bill perfectly and delivered consistently
good food and service.
As you'd expect for a restaurant costing £4.5 million and designed
by Miguel Cancio Martins, famous for Man Ray in Paris, the interior
is breathtaking.
Vermilion is an excellent restaurant and whilst it sells itself as
a destination restaurant, it's close enough to Piccadilly (only 5
minutes in a taxi) to offer a great alternative to city centre dining...
there's plenty here to
impress
