Che Cuban Restaurant Manchester - reader comments

Trusted Reviewer "We went during the 2-4-1 offer on drinks during the early evening and the set menu of 3 courses for £10 was available till 7. I thought that the portions would be smaller on the set menu, but nothing could be further from the truth. The food was well presented, cooked sensitively and there was just enough for each course. There was a good range of meals to choose from, and the other dishes my fellow diners had seemed to be of a similar standard. The only little thing I would say was that some plates were cleaned away before some people had finished, but on the whole a really enjoyable and inexpensive time was had." - paul hutchinson, bolton 26/11/07 (visited on a friday evening)

Trusted Reviewer "I went to Che after reading the reviews on this site and it was a great choice. We arrived early and had the benefit of the happy hour at the lively bar (2 for 1 between 5pm and 7pm) before going upstairs to enjoy the early bird special menu. Fantastic value at a tenner for 3 courses, bearing in mind the good quality of the food. The place has a great buzz about it and I'd recommend it to everybody without hesitation." - ian, stockton heath 24/11/07 (visited on a thursday evening)

"The whole evening was a complete success from start to finish. The cocktails were lovely and everybody really enjoyed the dancing lesson, thankfully the instructor was very patient with us all! The staff were very approachable and looked after us throughout the evening especially when we were struggling with all the lovely food that had been provided. We will hopefully arrange another similar event in the new year, I think we'll have to order less food next time though. Excellent organisation, hospitality and entertaining Salsa evening." - catherine, manchester 23/11/07 (visited on a wednesday evening)

Trusted Reviewer "Che has to be one of the best value bars and restaurants in Manchester! With a regular happy hour offering 2 for 1 on most drinks including cocktails and a 3 course meal for just £10, superb value for money. I started with a Poached Egg and Asparagus served with Hollandaise sauce which was really tasty and well presented, great combination. My main meal was Vegetable Risotto and again was really nice, however the veg could have done with being cooked for longer as it was a little too hard. Finally I had Chocolate and Bourbon sponge with Ice Cream, a great combination of hot and cold with a tangy orange sauce. Overall this was a first class meal at a first class price! I will be returning! " - nick, stockport 20/11/07 (visited on a thursday evening)

Trusted Reviewer "The restaurant at Che is above the bar close to Piccadilly Gardens. We went between 5pm and 7pm and it was happy hour. They do great cocktails and at 2 for the price of 1 it's great value for money. I had asparagus with egg for starter and it was out of this world. The main course - Chicken with cous cous with also was very good. The only downpoint was the dessert. I had Ice Cream with Strawberries, but it was not very nice. It seemed like the ice was too frozen and the texture was not the best. That said, my partner had Sticky Toffee Pudding which I tried and it tasted amazing. All 3 courses were £10 in total before 7pm - great!! Will definitely be returning! " - ingun, manchester 19/11/07 (visited on a wednesday evening)
