 | | | | | La Tasca Manchester Deansgate Spanish Restaurant - reader comments | "My husband and I visited La Tasca on a busy Saturday evening. We were informed by the front of house guys that there was a 1 hour 15 mins wait for a table and they told us to come back in 45 mins. Believe me, it is not simple to get to a table even once you have waited for so long, and basically you need to just keep hassling the guys on the front of house and eventually you should be shown to a table! We were seated in the downstairs restaurant and introduced to our waiter for the evening. La Tasca has a great atmosphere; it is also quite cozy if you get seated on the cushions on one of the outer tables in the restaurant. It can be quite noisy at a weekend and you find yourself shouting to each other across the table, but there is Spanish music playing which is great. We ordered 7 dishes in total and our fantastic olives and fresh bread arrived first which we could enjoy with a very good bottle of Tempranillo for £13.95. The rest of the dishes came very quickly, in fact so quick it made us feel rushed. It is nice to relax when you eat out. The food was generally very good, especially the chorizo and meatball dishes. We had the Pollo con Salsa, a very tasty chicken in sherry cream sauce dish, but this didn't contain much in the way of chicken. We also had the Gambas Gabardina, breaded prawns, which were again very good but there were only 4 of them. The staff were very attentive and polite throughout the meal. One more point is that there were only 3 women's toilets in the place, which is not good enough for a restaurant of that size! Overall we always enjoy our visits to La Tasca and will be going back again in the future" - Michelle Knowles, Rochdale - TRUSTED REVIEWER (31/7/09 visited on a Saturday evening) |

| | "Expensive for San Miguel but it's worth every penny. Superb! If you look around the restaurant, you feel like you're in Spain. A very warm, welcoming, lively place." - wez milward, manchester 2/12/08 (visited on a thursday lunch) |
| | "Very disappointing as my previous visits had been great. The food was cold, salad was greasy, bread was stale and beer too expensive." - emma lowther, manchester 28/10/08 (visited on a saturday evening) |
