 | | | | | Nando's Chicken The Printworks Manchester - reader comments | "I have to say, I do think Nando's is just fabulous! The half chicken with chips and coleslaw is so simple yet so delicious, topped with the peri peri hot sauce and the garlic sauce which I could live off forever! The service is not great, it does let the place down. We were the only ones at the till waiting to place our order, yet still waited 5 mins whilst staff just seemed to totally ignore us. We then had one starter missing, which, when we mentioned it to one of the waiters, he did kindly refund us the money even though we still ate it. Also one of the side dishes didn't turn up until the end of the meal. Saying that, I still can't wait to go back and have the same meal over and over again. I simply love it." - Michelle, Rochdale 24/12/08 (visited on a Sunday afternoon) |
| "This is a funny one, because to be honest, Nandos isn't really a restaurant. Sure, it says that it is on the sign outside, but then so does McDonalds, and how many people see that as anything other than the king of fast food? Theres only 2 restaurant like traits to Nandos. 1 - The food is served at your table whilst you sit, and 2 - A main meal costs not far off 10 quid.
Sure, Nandos is different, the chicken burgers are pretty good, freshly cooked, and the peri peri sauce is spicy, and plentiful. However, its only one step up from KFC in terms of food quality, yet its double the price.
To be frank, Im sure that Nandos would be classed as the same bracket as KFC, 100% fast food, if they didn't make a big deal out of serving Halal chicken. Why more big name fast food eateries dont do this is beyond me though, as it would add a lot to the customer base.
Anyway, Im not going to bother rating this as a restaurant, as it isn't one, but still, if you want a good chicken burger or decent roast chicken, with self service cutlery, sauces, ice cream, drinks and everything else, aswell as ordering at the till, and dont mind paying what you'd expect to pay in a cheap restaurant/pub, then give it a go." - Chris Handley, Salford 1/9/08 (visited on a Monday lunch) |
| | "I visited Nandos for the first time on Friday evening with a group of friends to celebrate the engagement of one of them. Firstly the service was poor - we had to queue up to order our food (there was 18 of us). When the food came it was nice but part of my order was Portebelo Mushrooms - when my order came I only received one - for the price I paid this was disgusting!" - Mary, Manchester 5/2/08 (visited on a Friday evening) |
