El Carnero Manchester - Preview

Last night saw a sneak preview of El Carnero, the new Mediterranean inspired venue in Ramsbottom, and I was fortunate to be invited along.  I caught up with the restaurant's GM, Zane, to find out more. 

The menu has a clear focus on social dining, featuring an array of Mediterranean small plates, wood fired pizzas, and a selection of sharing Sunday roasts including a whole chicken.  There's also a solid drinks offering including beers across the Med, a choice of great value wines, some of which are supplied by local favourite The Vineyard, and a great cocktail list compiled by El Carnero's bar manager, Poppy.

We sampled a few dishes on the evening, including a delicious Lamb Stew, some Padron Peppers, and got quite involved in that drink selection too!  I shall look forward to trying their house made Sangria in the coming weeks of sun!

As a long-term local resident, it's great to see the new owners' passion being piled into this place.  The venue has a history of delivering quality operations and the property itself is the town's hospitality centrepiece, so it's going to be wonderful seeing it full of happy customers once again!
