Hanaan Restaurant Rusholme Manchester - member's reviews |
"I came to Hanann with a group of 20-30 people. We arrived at the restaurant at 7.45pm and I did not receive my starter till 10pm, which in the meantime I survived on 2 poppadoms with only 3 assortments to put on them (Onions in red sauce, some nuclear reactive green looking substance and mint yoghurt sauce). My starter was OK, 2 Onion Bhaji's and thankfully my main, Rogan Josh, didn't take as long, and 20 mins later it arrived. The food was OK but nothing special and I have had a lot better. My complaint about the main was the portion size. To be honest, I felt it was more child like in size and I litterally finished my main dish in 5 mins. There was a lot of rice but still my main was too small. I am not sure if this was normal or not. My only other complaint on the night was that they had no cider on draft, instead it was out of a can and very warm and flat. Will I return again? No!" - Terry Stewart, Whitefield - NEW MEMBER - (30/3/09, visited on a Saturday evening) |

"I've visited Hanaan several times and, every time, the starters, poppadoms and main meal have all been absolutely gorgeous. I have varied my main meal and they have been just as nice. The staff are very nice and friendly. You also get free coffee and discount at the door before you go in." - claire louise anderson, hyde 26/2/09 (visited on a Friday evening) |

"The food was very disappointing and service was very poor at Hanaan. I had to call out to the waiter to be attended to. The ice cream portion was literally 2 teaspoonfuls! When I mentioned this to the waiter he commented that 'you get what you pay for', which isn't the right answer to a customer." - a haiderali, york 3/12/08 (visited on a Tuesday evening) |

"I have visited Hanaan a number of times and the greeter is always very friendly. All meals have been delicious and a variety of starters and mains have been ordered, no one I have taken has ever had any issues. The staff are polite and do their job well and can have a laugh if necessary but generally leave you to yourselves. When I went you could take your own alcohol or purchase there but this may have changed according to another review I have read." - colette afrin, blackburn 20/6/08 (visited on a Saturday evening) |

"The older waiter was very good, very pleasant. His younger assistant was totally miserable, almost resentful. Furthermore, the starters of kebabs were good with a good portion. The main course we had of Chilli Chicken and Jalfrezi was very small and not in keeping with the opposition along the Curry Mile in Rusholme. I cannot see how Hanaan got a four star rating (at the time of writing). It's definitely only a 3 star and much like most of the other curry houses in the area!" - phil hodgson, warrington 25/3/08 (visited on a Bank Holiday Monday evening) |

"My wife, myself and niece were going to the Apollo to see the Kelly Clarkson gig and, as I wasn't too keen, she suggested a pre-gig curry. We were pretty early (5pm ish) and as the Hanaan had just opened we were the first customers. The menu is wide & varied and the food was spot on. I opted for steaming hot Mushroom Pilau (very generous portion) and piping hot Chicken Madras. The restaurant quickly began to fill but the service remained excellent. The bill was very reasonable for the quality of food presented. There is ample secure parking (just across the road £3). Remember too to bring your own booze as they weren't licensed to sell alcohol (off licence nearby though). Kelly Clarkson was OK but the Hanaan was fantastic!" - Julian, Wrexham 15/3/08 |
