Manchester House are throwing a charity bash on Tuesday Feb 18th, which will include cooking from Head chef Aiden Byrne, as well as his Great British Menu colleagues, Tom Aikens, Daniel Clifford and Michael Wignall. The dinner will include 8 courses, along with matched wine, and costs £200 per person, half of which will go directly to charity; Hospitality Action. Established in 1837 Hospitality Action, the Hospitality Industry Benevolent Organisation, has offered vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis.

Cheshire based Living Ventures have revealed their end of your accounts, and have revealed a tripling of their profits from the previous 12 months. Despite an aggressive and expensive expansion program during 2013, the group turned over a profit of £1.55 million. Living Ventures has many venues around Manchester City Centre including Cocktail bars The Alchemist and The Alchemist on New York Street, Steak Houses Grill on The Alley and Grill On New York Street, Pan Asian offerings in the form of Australasia and Australasia Bar and Garden along with their newest addition to Spinningfields Manchester House .

Manchester's Caribbean festival will this year be held at Platt Fields Park, instead of its regular home of Alexandra Park. The venue change first happened last year due to Alexandra Park being closed for renovation. Due to the success of the new venue though, the event is now thought to have been permanently relocated. A new buyer is being sought for Salford's Lowry Hotel, with an asking price of around £40 million being placed on the 5 star hotel, which has been voted the best UK business hotel, outside of London. _ 29th Jan 2014

After recently receiving MBE’s the sisters are continuing to expand their successful brand with the launch of the Sweet Mandarin Cookbook. Planning application has been lodged to open a Thai restaurant and bar on The Avenue in Spinningfields. The cleverly named Thai Pad, would if approved be open from 11am until 2am, Monday to Sunday. Consultation for the application runs until February 11th. _ 15 Jan 2014

Ramsbottom favourite Ramson’s is set to re-open the Hideaway. The downstairs venue will open later this month as the Venetian Hideaway and focus on all things Venetian, with the majority of ingredients sauced directly from Italy. _ 14 Jan 2014
